Community

Work began in the community during 1967 when the Company existed as Action Space in London, continuing from 1983 as Action Space Mobile in South Yorkshire.  Mary Turner worked with local groups and individuals to develop the Mapplewell & Staincross Village Hall space the Company now has it's offices and studio workshop and store in. This work continues through Mary’s involvement on the board of the local groups and partnerships.

ASM has an inspiring portfolio of work within the community arts field. This portfolio continues to grow and develop through demand led programmes, activities and events which are offered as part of the partnership work with community groups.

Work in the community also incorporates consultancy work, the development and delivery of arts programmes within the community and through the directorship of the Village Hall and the United Villages Partnership.
