Cross the Sky

Cross the Sky is a Barnsley based integrated Theatre Company, which consists of four artists and sixteen specialist performers with learning disabilities. Directed by Rebekah Newbould the Company meets once a week to devise, rehearse and tour a performance annually. They meet mainly at the Cooper Gallery in Barnsley and occasionally at the Emmanuel Church, more recently they have used ASM's new Studio / Workspace at Mapplewell. The project has the support of the local authority and care workers.

Each performance is devised by the group through visual arts, dance, drama, original music and songs. This is all undertaken whilst working towards National Open College Network accreditation as part of a franchise with Rotherham College. The Company to date has produced three shows, 'A Fishermans Tale', 'Strange & Pretty Cloudcatcher' and 'Searching'. These shows have toured to theatres venues across the region such as The Dearne Community Theatre, The Academy Theatre and the Lamproom Theatre, reaching wide audiences.
Latest news... The Transformation Station has toured venues across South and West Yorkshire and has been extremely well received... If you would like to be put on the mailing list to be invited to attend performances or would like to be included on the waiting list for a place with CTS please contact us.
