Developing the next generation of practitioners

Action Space Mobile has long-standing links with Higher Education institutions having delivered modules at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, featured in academic texts, delivered conference papers and provided placements for students.

Action Space Mobile artists and service users can contribute to modules or individual teaching sessions, offer placements and mentoring and can be of relevance to many subject areas including: Social Work; Disability Studies; Performing Arts; Play Therapy; Art Therapy; Psychology.

We have an on-going relationship with Timisoara University in Romania, having contributed to its Psychology course for a number of years and helped to establish an Art Therapy course, a discipline which did not previously exist in Romania.

The Action Space Mobile archive is to be housed at the University of Sheffield and made available to students and a book covering the history of the company 'Action Space Extended' is due for publication in autumn 2011.

This is in addition to our existing publication 'This is How We Do It'  which documents the company's pioneering techniques.

We are keen to develop the next generation of practitioners through new partnerships and collaborations with Higher Education Institutions in the UK and abroad.

Action Space Mobile also offers support, mentoring and training to our volunteers where appropriate.  We can train volunteers and care workers in simple arts activities so that there can be continuity in the work.

We can provide placements for young people wishing to develop skills and experience in the area of combined arts activity and work with people with disability.
