| Action Space Mobile artists have delivered a number of varied arts activities for newly arrived adults and children, such as the Meet Up project in Barnsley, which gave the newly arrived an opportunity to share arts activities and food with members of the local community. Action Space Mobile has worked in partnership with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park education department to devise and deliver a number of out of school arts projects for newly arrived young people and young people that were already living in Barnsley and Wakefield. This included two site specific drama performances, a dance piece and a music CD. Through such work our artists could identify the knowledge, skills and experience of the newly arrived and share their knowledge, skills and stories with the wider community. · Promoting social cohesion between age groups, neighbouring communities and social/ethnic groups · Challenging stereotypes · Promoting integration |
