Action Space Mobile has worked in Romania since the early 90s with people with disabilities and excluded groups like street children in collaboration with other charities, notably

& Relief Fund for Romania http://www.relieffundforromania.co.uk/

Initially joint English and Romanian teams worked at institutions and English teams were involved with the training of Romanian staff at all levels.

Action Space Mobile's film 'We are all the same as you' highlighted where the need was greatest whilst praising the progress made by some institutions in the Bacau area of north eastern Romania.

A three year project with Muzika set out to improve the lives of people with profound and multiple disabilities through programmes of stimulation using music, touch, communication and the enhancement of their environment. 

More recently, in December 09 Mary Turner, accompanied by freelance musician Matt Laurie, re-visited the Vermesti Residential Institution (for adults with mental health problems), in the county of Bacau.  During this trip, Mary and Matt successfully delivered workshops in music and movement for staff training and intensive contact work.
